Dear Friend,
Welcome to our monthly e-newsletter, re-named "K9 Connect." You previously received it as "The STOP22 Review," intended to reflect the 22 daily suicides of military veterans. However, the latest VA statistic cites 20 daily suicides. While suicide statistics are hard to fully rely on, we'll gladly accept the update, hoping that our work is playing a role in the decrease. We encourage you to keep following the "Stop 22" campaigns that still exist to raise awareness of veteran suicide, such as the #22PushUpChallenge, and American Ninja Warrior Chris Johnson's "220 Ninja" effort.
The e-newsletter content will remain the same - a quick update on K9s For Warriors' progress in rescuing dogs, and returning veterans to life with dignity and independence. Thank you for your continued support - we can't do it without you!

In Case You Missed It...
Thankfully, the campus survived Hurricane Irma with nothing but tree debris to show for it. Safety plans were implemented, as well as an effective drainage system which prevented flooding. The September class was sent home a week early as a safety precaution, but still left with solid training and their new, furry battle buddies.

Camp K9 News
We're so thankful to our longtime sponsor Bayer for helping to keep our dogs in top shape. Bayer's latest donation is Seresto® collars, which all our dogs will wear to prevent fleas and ticks for up to 8 consecutive months. There are all kinds of critters running and flying around Florida, so these are a must to protect our pups. Thank you, Bayer!

Warrior Update
Several months ago, we shared that K9s graduates James & Dunkin had begun an apprenticeship to become Warrior Trainers. We're happy to report that they made it! They've been doing an excellent job training each new warrior class. James and Dunkin are a huge success story; they got their new "leash" on life and now pay it forward every day.
Here they are, leading a class through training at the zoo!
